Rotocast Steel Shots are spherical steel abrasives developed for industrial shot blasting, desanding, descaling, cleaning, surface preparation and shot peening applications. Their controlled spherical shape provides repeated impact across the work surface, making them suitable for operations where uniform coverage and consistent surface treatment are important.
The S-series includes multiple grades from fine to coarse. Each grade is defined by an approved sieve distribution, not by treating the numerical grade designation as a direct diameter. Using the correct size distribution helps achieve a more stable working mix, predictable impact intensity and better control over surface results. For this reason, all Rotocast grade pages below use millimetres (mm) as the single website size unit and present the TDS cumulative sieve limits exactly as specified.
Choose finer Steel Shot grades where higher coverage and more controlled finishing are required, and select coarser grades where the blasting process needs greater impact energy for heavier cleaning or larger components. Final grade selection should consider the substrate, machine type, wheel/nozzle parameters, contamination level and target finish.
