Rotocast Steel Grits are angular steel abrasives designed for aggressive cleaning and controlled surface profiling. Their sharp, irregular edges provide a stronger cutting action than spherical Steel Shot, helping remove rust, mill scale, old coatings and tightly bonded surface contaminants while creating a defined anchor profile for subsequent painting or protective coating.
The G-series includes coarse, medium and fine grades to support different blasting objectives. Coarser grit is generally selected where higher cutting energy and deeper profiling are required, while finer grit provides greater coverage and a more controlled profile. The correct choice depends on the substrate, contamination level, target profile, machine type, operating velocity and hardness grade.
Every product page in this category should use millimetres (mm) as the only particle-size unit. Grade designations such as G-18, G-25 or G-50 must not be interpreted as a direct diameter. The exact size distributions below follow the supplied RIL TDS.
